Narendra Modi arrives in Hyderabad to launch YOUTH RALLY
Hyderabad: Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya
Janata Party (BJP) poll panel chief Narendra Modi arrived here on Sunday to
kick-start party’s election campaign by holding a mega rally ahead of the
upcoming 2014 General Elections in the city. Modi is
expected to address around one lakh people at around 3 pm and security in the
city has been beefed up ahead of his rally "Nava Bharat Yuva Bheri"
(New India's Youth Conclave). Modi
arrived by a special aircraft at Begumpet Airport shortly after 10 am. State
BJP president G. Kishan Reddy and senior leaders Bandaru Dattatreya, Vidyasagar
Rao and others welcomed him. He drove to
Park Hyatt Hotel, where he will be meeting industrialists and representatives
from the information technology sector.
After the meeting, the BJP leader will unveil a
statue of Vallabhbhai Patel at the Keshav Memorial School. He will also address
BJP office-bearers before leaving Hyderabad at 9 pm. BJP leaders said the stadium has a capacity of 75,000
people, but over 1,00,000 have registered online. Twelve LED screens would be
installed outside the stadium for those who are unable to go inside.
“On my way to Hyderabad - I can feel the enthusiasm of the Youth already. Looking forward to Nava Bharat Yuva Bheri!”, Modi had tweeted on Sunday morning.
“On my way to Hyderabad - I can feel the enthusiasm of the Youth already. Looking forward to Nava Bharat Yuva Bheri!”, Modi had tweeted on Sunday morning.
The
party has decided to charge Rs 5 from anyone who wants to attend the rally. The
money will reportedly be donated for the rehabilitation of the flood victims in
Uttarakhand. Interestingly, the
BJP is promoting the event as a "youth rally" targeting a demographic
of 18-40.

Jihadis attack Hindus and Security forces in Kashmir, shout Anti-India slogans on Eid
Anti-India feelings run deep in Kashmir, where about a dozen rebel groups have been fighting against Indian rule since 1989. More than 65,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed. The rebel groups have largely been suppressed by Indian troops in recent years, and resistance is now principally expressed through street protests. Indian forces also used tear gas and pellet guns to quell thousands of stone-throwing protesters who took to the streets after the special Eid prayers in Srinagar.
Dozens of protesters, police and paramilitary officers were injured in
the clashes, another police officer said. Indian forces
imposed an indefinite curfew Friday in a town in the Indian portion of Kashmir
after firing tear gas and warning shots to disperse groups of Muslims and
Hindus who clashed during Eid celebrations, police said.
The
army began enforcing the curfew as rival groups attacked each other with stones
and sticks, and burned several shops and vehicles in Kishtwar, a town 200
kilometers (125 miles) southeast of Srinagar, the main city in
Indian-controlled Kashmir. Several people were hurt in the clashes, said one
police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to
talk to reporters. The trouble erupted after Hindus objected to Muslims shouting raising
pro-independence slogans on the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which caps the fasting
month of Ramadan.
State Home Minister Sajad Ahmed Kitchloo, who is from the area, escaped
unhurt when his motorcade was attacked with stones by the clashing groups.
The
state director-general of police, Ashok Prasad, said "the situation is
serious and our priority is not to allow the situation to escalate.... We are
trying to enforce the curfew strictly."
The
protesters chanted "We Want Freedom," and "Down with India"
as they marched through the streets of Srinagar. The injured included 19 police and paramilitary
soldiers, said Kishore Prasad, a spokesman for the Central Reserve Police
force. Several separatist leaders
were put under house arrest on Thursday night to stop them from leading the
protests ahead of the holiday, and shops and businesses were closed in the
region.
Kashmir is divided between India and Pakistan. They have fought two
wars over its control since they won independence from Britain in 1947. The
Indian portion of Kashmir is the only Muslim majority state in a predominantly
Hindu country.
Kashmiri Pandits demand CBI probe into Kishtwar violence
Several Kashmiri Pandit organisations
today condemned the communal violence in Kishtwar and demanded a CBI probe.
All Parties
Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC), a conglomerate of several displaced
Kashmiri Pandit outfits, lashed out Minister of State for Home Sajjad Kitchloo,
the local MLA and accused the district administration of inaction.
“We strongly condemn the Kishtwar
communal violence triggered due to the inaction of district administration and
demand immediate dismissal of Kitchloo and ordering of CBI probe into the
circumstances that lead to large scale violence in Kishtwar district
yesterday,” the APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit said in a statement here.
The APMCC demanded action
against senior police officers and questioned why the government “had not
bothered to issue a single press statement even after such large scale
violence”.
APMCC general secretary Arun
Kandroo demanded providing weapons to the minorities in Kishtwar for their
safety and strengthening of Village Defence Commitees (VDC) with communication
system.
Robert Vadra used fake documents to acquire Gurgaon land
Robert Vadra's land
deals in a village in Haryana have returned to haunt the Congress party and its
chief with whistleblower IAS officer Ashok Khemka alleging that Vadra "falsified documents" for 3.53 acres of land in Gurgaon and "pocketed"
large premium on a commercial colony license.
In his "voluminous reply" submitted to Haryana government's three-member enquiry committee set up in October last to look into Vadra-DLF deal, Khemka is understood to have alleged that Vadra, who is Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law, executed a series of "sham transactions" for 3.53 acres of land in Shikohpur village of Gurgaon.
The IAS officer alleged that the Haryana's department of town and country planning (DTCP) "ignored rules and regulations to allow crony capitalists operating as middlemen to flourish and appropriate market premium of a licence."
"The DTCP aided Vadra in making these sham transactions," he alleged.
Khemka, who submitted his reply on May 21, says that both the sale deed of February 12, 2008 through which Vadra's company 'Skylight Hospitality' bought land from 'Onkareshwar Properties' and letter of intent for granting a commercial licence to his company issued by DTCP in March 2008 are "sham transactions" made to enable Vadra to collect market premium.
"If there was no payment as alleged in the registered deed, can it it be said that the registered deed conferred ownership title over the said land upon Skylight Hospitality by virtue of the sham sale," he questions.
Khemka, who had cancelled a land mutuation deal between Vadra and DLF last October, claims that "there was no promise to pay in the future in the registered deed."
No price was paid as claimed in the registered deed. The sale registered in the said deed cannot, therefore, be called a "sale" in true sense of the term, legal or moral and it cannot be said that Skylight Hospitality became owner of the land in question by virtue of sale registered in the deed, Khemka is understood to have said in his report running into some 100 pages.
While Khemka's reply has gone public, the officer, on being approached by PTI here said, "I will not speak to the media on this issue."
Haryana chief secretary P K Chaudhary said, "We are examining the reply (by Khemka)".
The Haryana government's committee had earlier this year concluded that the orders passed by Khemka initiating an enquiry into Vadra's land deals were "without jurisdiction, inappropriate and not covered under any provisions of any statute or rules."
Besides, the committee also held that the order by Khemka cancelling the land mutation was improper.
Demanding a white paper on the transfer of all such licenses permitted in the past to expose the "loot of public wealth," Khemka writes that the DTCP had issued various types of colony licences for a total of 21,3666 acres in the last eight years of the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government's tenure between 2005 to 2012.
He points that if the market premium for a colony licence is assumed to be as low as Rs one crore per acre, the land licensing scam in the past eight years is worth around Rs 20,000 crore.
"At the premium of Rs 15.78 crore per acre that Vadra earned, this figure would jump to Rs 3.5 lakh crore," he claims.
He alleged in the letter the DTCP permitted Skylight to transfer the license to DLF in April 2012 and the licensed land was finally sold to DLF on September 18, 2012.
"By allowing the transfer of licence issued in the name of Skylight to DLF, the DTCP created a black market for trading in licences where cronies are issued licences which are later sold or transferred with permission of the authority for a fat consideration to the real developers," he writes.
On August 5, 2008 Skylight Hospitality entered into an unregistered collaboration agreement with DLF Universal.
Khemka observes that this led to loss of crores of revenue to the state exchequer due to a collaboration agreement of this kind has to be registered.
The opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has demanded a probe into the reply by Khemka by a sitting judge of the high court.
INLD leader Abhay Chautala, who is also MLA from Ellenabad, said his party had thrice raised this issue in the Vidhan Sabha, but the Speaker always tried to suppress it.
"All such transactions are done by the Hooda government to appease Sonia," he alleged.

CHOODI POOJA, The Essence of GSB Culture
Choodi Puja is performed in worship of
the Tulasi plant and in worship of the main entrance of the home. A series of
rituals that is performed by married women belonging to the Gowda Saraswath
Brahmin GSB community is known as the Choodi Puja. Tulasi plant gained
importance after the Puraana was written. In the Puraana(s) the Tulasi plant is
considered to be a sacred plant and gives strength and courage to the people
who worship it. It was well known that Tulasi plant had medicinal values. But
the information that the Tulasi plant has power to resolve problems in the
house and the family was new. The
main ritual involves arrangement of flowers and herbs in a small bundle.
Usually a bundle includes four to five flowers, darba grass and two or three
herbs. Locally available herbs and flowers are used to prepare the choodi. Some
of the common flowers and herbs used include Ratnagandhi, Shanka Pushpa, darba
grass, Gauri Pushpa etc.
The flowers are arranged in an artistic manner. First
Tulasi puja is offered. Next is worship of the sun. The freshly prepared
Choodi is offered to Tulsi Next a puja is performed at the doorstep of the
house and this is followed by a puja in the puja room.
A
sweet and delicious mixture of puffed rice, jaggery and coconut is prepared on
the day of choodi pooja and offered. Many others prepare panchakajjaya which is
a mixture of five ingredients.
GSB
women perform Choodi Puja every Friday and every Sunday till the end of the
month. The previous day the women make preparations for the Puja. To construct
the choodi(s), women collect the specified flowers and darba grass (sacred
grass plants), which are bound, into a tiny bouquet. This bouquet is
called the "choodi". It is about 3 inches in length and about one
half inch in diameter at its tie.
The specified flowers are those, which grow only in Shraavana month following rains in the previous Aashaada month of the rainy season. The darba grass also sprouts in the ground at this time. Darbankur (sprout of darba grass) is one of the essential requisites to tie the choodi(s) for Puja. About 10 choodi(s) are constructed. In large families more choodi(s) are needed for distribution among the women members. The married woman performs the Puja at her home all by herself. There are no invitees only the members who live in the house could attend the Puja. All the choodi(s) are placed in a tray in front of the idol or portrait of Goddess Lakshmi. An oil lamp is lighted. The Hindus are the only people in the world who use these special lamps. They are designed and manufactured in kilns of brass metal works. They have a round base, a shaft and a top round shallow bowl with five beaks. There are oil lamps of many sizes. The ones used at home for small functions such as the Choodi Puja are about 8 inches in height and their top oil bowls are about 4 inches in diameter. Each beak in the oil bowl can accommodate a cotton wick. These wicks are soaked in cooking oil such as peanut, coconut, cottonseed, palm, mustard or olive oil. The tips of the wicks are lighted using a matchstick. They glow well and look beautiful giving extra grandeur to the scene. Then both Goddess Lakshmi and the choodi(s) are worshipped by performing the Puja to them, first by applying Kumkum and Haldi powder and then waving an aarathi.

choodi(s) and the oil lamp are then taken to the Tulasi katte located outside, in the front yard of the house, where
flowers are mounted on the branches of the plant. Haldi and Kumkum are applied
to the tulasi. The plant is watered and one choodi is placed on a branch and another
on the monument. Now an aarathi is waved to the plant as well as the monument.
This concludes the Tulasi Puja. Now the woman returns to the entrance of the
house and sits in front of the door. The door remains open. She places a choodi on each side of the ledge or sill of the door. Then she waves an aarathi
to the choodi(s) and the door. Then she offers a choodi to GANGA MATHA (well) and also the sky. This concludes Choodi Puja for the day. The
choodi(s) have to be distributed to the female relatives and female friends. Those
who live nearby and within the same town as the woman, get the choodi in person.
Relatives living in faraway places get the choodi by posts. The choodi pooja also symbolises the everlating bond of love and respect between husband and wife and also the bondage between the relatives. The small children will actively participate in this by playing with Jagant..

Why Hindus Tie Cotton Threads Around Trees?
Cotton Threads of various colours like red, yellow
and white are tied around Pipal tree trunks especially in Northern and Western
parts of India. This ritual is performed especially on the Vat Savitri puja day
(May – June). During Vat Savitri Puja, the Banayan or Pipal Tree symbolically
represents Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The root of Vat Vriksha is Brahma, the
stem is Vishnu and the upper part is Shiva.
The Pipal tree plays an important role in the famous
story of Satyavan Savitri. It is believed that Satyavan spend his last moments
under a Vat or Banyan tree on the full moon day in month of Jyeshtha. And
Yamraj appeared here and Savitri pleaded with Yamraj under the Banyan tree.
In memory of this event, women go round the Banyan
tree for 108 times tying threads and fast for the health and longevity of their
husbands. The Pipal tree represents the tree of life and is
sacred in Hindu Religion. It supports life of all sorts and is famous for its
long life. The pipal tree also has the property to purify air.
The cotton thread is just the opposite The cotton
thread represents the fragile nature of life, love, trust, faith – and all
things that go on to make up a relationship. A single thread may be weak, but,
when it is wound 108 times around the trunk, it becomes strong. It is no longer
so fragile and no longer easy to break.
By walking around the tree 108 times, the wife
contemplates on these
matters. Love can only be strengthened by trust,
faith and desire to make it work! With each step, the woman strengthens her
relationship with her husband. She prays not just for her husband’s long life,
but an enduring relationship that will last beyond this life and into the next.

Another JIHADI attack by coward Pakistan,, killed 5 Indian soldiers today
In an audacious and
provocative attack, Pakistani troops entered Indian Territory along the Line of
Control in the Poonch sector in Jammu and Kashmir late last night and ambushed
a patrol killing five Indian soldiers.
The BJP said India should not hold talks with Pakistan in the wake of the killings of five Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.
The BJP said India should not hold talks with Pakistan in the wake of the killings of five Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.
Bharatiya
Janata Party (BJP) leader Shahnawaz Hussain said: "Talks with Pakistan
should not be held if even one bullet is fired on the border... You can't have
bullets being fired on the border and our soldiers being killed, and then hold
talks side by side."
My personal feeling:
Pakistani soldiers
entered into our territory & killed our 5 brave soldiers in Line of
Control. Before few days Pakistani soldiers cut off the heads of two Indian
soldiers. But not a single reaction from the Central Government.
Manmohan Singh the by
mistake PM of India has given the same set of statements,, when Pakistani
Soldiers cut off the heads of two of our soldiers his statement was "I am
very sad,, my heartfelt condolense to their family,, we will not tolerate
this".. After that no reaction,, only theory,, no practical..
After today's incident
Manmohan singh's statement "I am very sad,, my heartfelt condolense to
their family, we will not tolerate this".
Dear Mouni Mohan,, this
is not the time to play the feeling tune or be emotional,, if you cant then
step down,, Narendra Modi is ready with the entire script of the Mass Action
Film "MISSION SARVANASH PAKISTAN",,
Our army needs just a
brave order "Jawano aap aage bado hum aapke saath hai", but Mouni
Mohan Singh is saying "Jawano aap thoda adjust karo, Indo-Pak bhai,
bhai"

Protest against the decision of Andhra Govt to demolish Hindu temple, and for insulting freedom fighter Jhansi Rani Lakshmi Bai in CBSE 5th standard text books
On August 4th 2013 (sunday), Sanathan Samstha Udupi, Hindu Janajagruti Samithi Udupi organised a protest near Service bus stand in Udupi district of Karnataka against the foolish decision of Andhra Pradesh Government to demolish ISKON Temple along with 200 years old Sri Ganesh temple, Hanuman Temple, Dattatreya temple in order to make comfortable for the METRO RAIL PROJECT.
Another issue for today's protest was CBSE 5th standard text book in which freedom fighter Jhansi Rani Lakshmi Bai was insulted by projecting herself along with a HOOKAH in her hand and the same book in which a ordinary politician Rahul Gandhi was projected as a MAHATHMA by praising him in the same text book to change the mindset of young children..
Protest started at exact 11am in the morning with a prayer to seek blessings of Lord Krishna.. Later the various slogans were raised by the people who gathered with a great enthusiasm among them were "Bolo Bharath Matha Ki Jai" "Hindu Devasthana nasha maduva Andhra Sarakarakke dhikkara" "Jhansi Rani yannu avamana madida CBSE samitige dhikkara".. Many of them who addressed the gathering stressed the need of uniting ourselves in order to courageously face the challenge given by anti-Hindu, anti-patriotic elements..
The significant part of the day was the heavy rain which was coming from morning stopped at 10:30a.m and again started at 12:45p.m.. The entire protest was under the hotsun.. This itself is a answer to the people who shout that "There is no God"..
Tomorrow (August 5th 2013), the leaders will submit a memo with the thousands of signatures collected in various parts of Udupi district to the President of India through Udupi DC.

Kargil Vijay Diwas,, a historic day filled with precious emotions
Kargil Vijay Diwas, named after the success of Operation Vijay. On this day, 26 July 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistani intruders. The Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days, ended on 26 July and resulted in the loss of life on both sides, India and Pakistan. Pakistan retreated after international diplomatic pressure.
Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on 26 July every year in honour of the Kargil War's Heroes. This day is celebrated in the Kargil - Dras sector and the national capital New Delhi, where the Prime Minister of India, pays homage to the soldiers at Amar Jawan Jyothi at India Gate every year. Functions are also organized all over the country to commemorate the contribution of the Armed forces.
After the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, there had been a long period with relatively few direct armed conflicts involving the military forces of the two neighbours – notwithstanding the efforts of both nations to control the Siachen Glacier by establishing military outposts on the surrounding mountains ridges and the resulting military skirmishes in the 1980s.
During the 1990s, however, escalating tensions and conflict due to separatist activities in Kashmir, some of which were supported by Pakistan, as well as the conducting of nuclear tests by both countries in 1998, led to an increasingly belligerent atmosphere. In an attempt to defuse the situation, both countries signed the Lahore Declaration in February 1999, promising to provide a peaceful and bilateral solution to the Kashmir conflict. During the winter of 1998 -1999, some elements of the Pakistani Armed Forces were covertly training and sending Pakistani troops and paramilitary forces, some allegedly in the guise ofmujahideen, into territory on the Indian side of the LOC.
The infiltration was code named "Operation Badr",its aim was to sever the link between Kashmir and Ladakh, and cause Indian forces to withdraw from the Siachen Glacier, thus forcing India to negotiate a settlement of the broader Kashmir dispute. Pakistan also believed that any tension in the region would internationalise the Kashmir issue, helping it to secure a speedy resolution. Yet another goal may have been to boost the morale of the decade-long rebellion in Indian Administered Kashmir by taking a proactive role.
Initially, with little knowledge of the nature or extent of the infiltration, the Indian troops in the area assumed that the infiltrators were jihadis and claimed that they would evict them within a few days. Subsequent discovery of infiltration elsewhere along the LOC, and the difference in tactics employed by the infiltrators, caused the Indian army to realize that the plan of attack was on a much bigger scale. The total area seized by the ingress is generally accepted to between 130 km² – 200 km².
The Government of India responded with Operation Vijay, a mobilisation of 200,000 Indian troops. Finally war came to an official end on July 26,1999,thus making it the Vijay Diwas.

Moscow may lose its sole Hare Krishna temple
July 31, 2013
Note : Anyone can send their lawful protest to concerned authorities directly through Comments Section on HJS Website.
Russia : The temporary site where Russian devotees of the Hare Krishna Movement or ISKCON pray is likely to be demolished, Krishna.ru, a site run by Russian ISKCON followers said.
The movement has faced several bureaucratic hurdles in its quest to have a permanent structure to conduct its religious activities. When the ISKCON temple situated near the Begovaya metro station (in the centre of Moscow) was demolished in 2004, the Moscow government allotted land for construction of a new temple at the Leningradsky Prospekt (north of Moscow). This land was subsequently taken away.
In 2006, the Moscow government promised to build a temple in the Molzhaninovo district (10 km from the Moscow ring road) as part of the joint declaration signed by the Moscow and New Delhi governments. A Russian Orthodox Church has since been built in Delhi.
Despite all clearances for the project for the temple to be built in Molzhaninovo, the Moscow government cancelled the project. The authorities of the Northern administrative district of Moscow have also threatened to demolish the temporary site where Moscow-based ISKCON followers pray.
Moscow is believed to have 20,000 followers of the ISKCON movement.

Moscow ISKCON Temple now Ordered Closed by Court Order
July 14, 2013
Moscow (Russia) : The Moscow ISKCON Temple now ordered closed in ten days by Moscow City Government's final court decision.
After many so many past close calls and demands for closure, with many previous demands for closure delayed, the final decision was made by the Moscow government, city officials and the courts, ordering the ISKCON Moscow temple closed in a brief ten's days time. An impossible feat.
The Moscow devotees are ordered to immediately vacate the original Moscow land given to them by the Moscow government to build their temple. It was a gift to them, but was revoked/canceled by them). Now, four days ago, the final court decision has brought this drama to a sad end for ISKCON Moscow. The ISKCON Moscow temple must leave its current, formally donated location.
This has come as a complete unexpected surprise to the Moscow ISKCON devotees, who were not at all given enough time to move from there by officials. There are many temporary structures and Temple altar/kitchens there. Moving is a costly and time consuming task, which will take many weeks to do. Ten days is not enough time warning time given to ISKCON Moscow. This is tragic, inconsiderate and awful.
Suddenly, an unannounced government official came to the temple to deliver the final irrevocable court decision to end Moscow ISKCON Temple's right to exist there. It is an extreme order for them to vacate the temple within the next ten days time, or to face certain extreme actions from the city officials against them.
To make matters even worse and insulting for the Russian devotees, Moscow ISKCON will now sadly face a 7 million ruble fine, and also bulldozers to knock down the temple building and its brahamacari ashrams and temple offices. There is also a huge, expensive pandal adjacent to the temple, a professional tent used year round for many visiting gurus and seniors devotees as well as important huge festivals, now also in danger of being destroyed by the city officials.
This comes at the same time when, in just a short time, the biggest festival of the Moscow Russian Yatra is to be held: Sri Krsna Janmastami and Srila Prabhupada's Appearance day programs will be crippled severely, as there will be no place now to hold it.
The ten day ultimatum to vacate the temple and move out is an impossible deadline, as more time will be needed to dissemble the massive tent and buildings, what to speak of relocating the presiding Deities, Sri Sri Dayal Nitai Sachi Suta, Sri Sri Gaura Nitai Dieties Who will be rendered homeless soon by this heavy action, suddenly and ruthlessly enforced by the Moscow City government officials.
At this time, I ask ALL ISKCON Temples and devotees to search their hearts and souls and understand how serious this is, and how Srila Prabhupada would have expected actions and help from our entire ISKCON Society for Moscow ISKCON. Please understand the very great need now of coming forward and helping Srila Prabhupada's Russian devotees in their time of grave danger and need. It's a sincere call to rescue the ISKCON Moscow Temple project.
This is an URGENT appeal to all GBC members, and I humbly ask all ISKCON Temples, all over the world to come forward with help for Moscow ISKCON in this grave crisis situation.

Subject : Request to stop demolition of the only Hindu temple in Russia,
the ISKCON temple and protect religious and Human Rights of Hindus in Russia
the ISKCON temple and protect religious and Human Rights of Hindus in Russia
We write to you on behalf of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is a Non Governmental Organisation working for religious awakening of Hindus and bringing Hindus and other Organisations on common platform for the welfare of the Nation and the Hindu Dharma. Our details can be seen on our website www.hindujagruti.org.
This is in context with the news in the media about the demolition of the Hindu temple, the temple of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) that is going to take place by the 15th Of January 2013 that we wish to express our concerns.
We are very much upset and shocked to know about this. A temple in Hindu Dharma has a very great amount of significance. It is one of the means of Hindus to connect with God and is the centre of providing education about the religion to the Hindus. This is also a place where Hindus meet and collectively worship God. In short a temple in Hindu Dharma is an indispensable aspect of religious practice and would not be wrong to say that it is a lifeline of Hindus. So also a temple emits saatvic (pure ) vibrations which helps in purifying the environment and thus benefiting the country at the subtle level
In such a situation the demolition of the Hindu temple in Russia gains serious importance. This is very serious issue of hurting religious sentiments and encroachment on human rights and the freedom of right to religion. Every country has their laws but in case of religious matter the spiritual dimension and the emotional aspect have to be taken into consideration. In fact if one creates an environment helpful for worship in temples the country will receive blessings of the deity which will benefit the country at large.

In fact India and Russia have shared very good relations till date and have respected each others culture and religion. This act is going to create a strain in the pre existing good relations between the two countries and misunderstanding and give a very unwanted message to the people of the world about Russia and make them feel insecure.
We hereby request the Russian government to intervene in this matter and stop the demolition of the Hindu temple in Russia and reassure the Hindus in Russia and the world over.
We are looking forwards to a prompt and positive response at your end.
Thanking you
Yours faithfully,
Dr. Manoj Solanki

Detailed News
New Delhi : A year after Russia sought to ban the Bhagavad Gita, the Iskcon Krishna temple in Moscow is facing closure by the Russian government. By January 15, 2013, Iskcon monks said their Moscow temple, the only Hindu temple in Russia, would be demolished by the city authorities.
As Russian President Vladimir Putin arrives on Monday for a day of talks with the Indian government, the temple issue is likely to figure in the discussions, not least because the issue has been pursued by the foreign ministry.
Indian ambassador to Russia Ajai Malhotra has asked the Moscow authorities to give an extension to a temporary temple which is set to expire on December 31, 2012, until they complete the construction of a Vedic cultural centre. Asked about the proposed demolition, Russian ambassador to India Alexander Kadakin dismissed fears of demolition.
However, Iskcon monk Madanmohan Das said the demolition order has not been revoked, so the temple is due to come down in January, because the authorities said it "violates the urban building code" and has no legal grounds for existence.
In a statement, the temple officials said they feared that even the permanent temple would face the axe. "A source in the Moscow mayor's office said on condition of anonymity that Mayor Sergey Sobyanin also ordered to axe the permanent temple project, which Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit and previous Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov had included in a joint declaration in 2006 as a symbol of cultural cooperation between the cities. Following the declaration, Indian ambassador Ajai Malhotra laid the cornerstone for the new project earlier this year," the statement said.
This year, Russia plans to push for land from the Indian government for a Russian orthodox church in Delhi. In 2004, Moscow's Iskcon temple was demolished and the Iskcon group was offered another plot to build a temple. Reports said the offer was withdrawn after Russian orthodox church members protested against the temple building plans.
Last year's Bhagavad Gita trial had brought Lok Sabha to its feet and in a rare move, Parliament had collectively asked Russia to prevent the ban. The latest issue of demolition promises to put another wrinkle in the bilateral relations.

1. Science behind the idol
1.1 Colour
‘One comes across varied information regarding Hanuman’s form. His complexion is mostly red and rarely black. A red Hanuman is one smeared with a saffron coloured powder called sindur. Perhaps His black complexion is due to the influence of Saturn (Shani). Hanuman is famous as an incarnation or as a son of Lord Rudra. Since Rudra’s complexion is red, Hanuman too must have derived His complexion from Him. After He acquired a red complexion stories regarding His love for sindur were told.
- Once after bathing Sita made a red spot (tila) with sindur on Her forehead. When Hanuman asked for an explanation Sita replied, “It is because of this that Your Master’s life is prolonged”. When He heard this, Hanuman smeared sindur all over His body !
- Once when Hanuman was proceeding to Lanka with the Dronagiri hills Bharat struck Him with an arrow and wounded His leg. The wound healed with a mixture of sindur and oil. Hence sindur and oil are Hanuman’s favourites.’
1.2 Form
Look at the two figures given below. Decide with which figure you feel more pleasant and then read further.
Figure A | Figure B |
At one of our workshops in Mumbai twenty-five out of thirty-six seekers who participated in this experiment gave their answers. The average spiritual level of the seekers was 35%. During a satsang (spiritual meeting) at times the spiritual level of a seeker can even become 40-50%. The spiritual level of an average person is 20% while that of one who has attained the Final Liberation (Moksha) is 100%. If average individuals participate in the experiment, they do not perceive anything. Hence in such experiments everyone does not get spiritual experiences. Only those who have attained a spiritual level of 35% and above and are able to perceive something of the subtle dimension are able to give answers. Sixteen out of twenty-five seekers experienced serenity (shanti) with figure ‘A’ and the rest with figure ‘B’.
Figure ‘A’ depicts the tail of Maruti as the servitor (Dasmaruti) and figure ‘B’ the tail of Maruti as the courageous one (Virmaruti). One must have realised how without even looking at the entire form of Maruti merely by looking at His tail, energy or divine consciousness (chaitanya) in His form is manifested. Energy manifests from Maruti as the courageous one and divine consciousness from Maruti as the servitor since the latter is merged into Lord Rama.
- Maruti as the servitor (Dasmaruti) and Maruti as the courageous one (Virmaruti): Hanuman has two forms namely Maruti as the servitor and Maruti as the courageous one. The servitor form is the one in which Hanuman stands in front of Rama with His hands folded in obeisance, His tail resting on the ground. The stance of Maruti as the courageous one is that of one ready for battle. His tail is upright and His right hand is turned towards His head. Sometimes even a demon crushed under His feet is depicted. To overcome problems of possession, black magic, etc. Maruti as the courageous one is worshipped.
- Maruti with five faces (Panchmukhi Maruti):
Panchmukhi Hanuman - Maruti facing the south (Dakshinmukhi Maruti): Here the word south (dakshin) has two meanings - one is the south direction and second, the right side.South in context to the direction: Here since Maruti faces the south He is named so. Black magic like jaran, maran, etc. are done primarily in front of this idol of Maruti. Such idols of Maruti are found in Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, etc. in Maharashtra and in Basavgudi in the district of Karnataka in India.South in context to the right side: This Maruti has His face turned towards the right. What do you feel after looking at the following two figures? First decide with which you experience more energy and only then read the following section.
Figure A Figure B |
At a workshop in Mumbai twelve out of thirty-six seekers gave answers. Nine out of these twelve experienced energy with figure ‘B’ and only 3 experienced energy with figure ‘A’. In figure ‘B’ (facing the right) since the sun channel (surya nadi) of Maruti is active more energy was felt by most seekers looking at it. In figure ‘A’ the moon channel (chandra nadi) of Maruti is operational hence people felt less energy. Just like Ganapati with the trunk towards the right the Maruti facing the right is a powerful deity. He is worshipped to overcome problems due to distressing energy. The sushumna channel (nadi) of Ganapati and Maruti are continuously operational but with the transformation in Their forms the sun or moon channels too become operational to a small extent.
2. Shani (Saturn) and Maruti
‘Although there is close association between Shani and Hanuman prevailing in our society its explanation is equally complicated and incomprehensible.
2.1 Similarities
- 1. In the verse with a thousand Names of Hanuman (Hanumansahasranam stotra) Shani is one of the Names of Hanuman.
- 2. In the Surya Sanhita it is said that Hanuman was born on a Saturday (Shanivar).
- 3. It is given in holy texts that Rudra is one of the ten names of Shani.
- 4. Just like Shani one occasionally comes across Hanuman with a dark complexion.
- 5. Since Shani is popular in the Gadhval region Hanuman is also seen sporting an iron whip akin to Shani. As a result unknowingly a relationship between Shani and Hanuman must have been established and Hanuman’s worship on Saturdays and His inclusion in the vowed observance of worshipping Saturday (Shanivarvrat) must have commenced.
2.2 Differences
The differences between Shani and Hanuman are more than their similarities.
- 1. Shani is the son of the Sun deity hence is born from the tej (absolute fire) element whereas Hanuman is the son of Vayu hence is born from the vayu (absolute air) element.
- 2. There is discord between Shani and the sun whereas Hanuman is a devotee of the Sun deity. He has learnt all the skills from the Sun deity who has imparted a hundredth portion of His radiance to Him. Due to the conflict between Shani and the Sun deity the latter helped Hanuman, the enemy of His enemy (Shani). At that time the vayu element and energy had not manifested completely in Hanuman.
- 3. Shani is slow whereas Hanuman is swift like the eagle.
- 4. Shani is an evil planet while Hanuman is definitely not so.
- 5. It is said that one should not sell oil on Saturdays yet it is customary to offer oil to Hanuman on that day.
3. Demigods (yakshas) and Maruti
Brave and miraculous are adjectives used to describe the demigods. In the Valmiki Ramayan Hanuman is referred to as the miraculous one. Mahavir (the courageous one) is Hanuman’s popular Name. This indicates the relationship between Hanuman and the worship of the demigods. Hanuman is included in the fifty-two brave ones (virs) by the name of Kapilumbir. In Maharashtra, India in the month of Phalgun of the Hindu lunar calendar people dressed as warriors (virs) dance in a procession on their way to a Maruti temple.’
4. Ganapati and Maruti
Both of Them have a red complexion (like sindur) and both of Them possess the eight supernatural powers (ashtamahasiddhis).
5. Importance of Maruti as described by saints
Saint Ramdas Swami has said “Hanumant is our deity”. He is a symbol of energy, ingenuity and devotion. Hence Samarth Ramdas began worshipping Him. Eleven idols of Maruti installed by Him are famous. In North India too saint Tulsidas erected a number of temples and strengthened the worship of Maruti. Madhvacharya is considered as an incarnation of Maruti. Various other saints have also placed Maruti as the ideal through Their various compositions.
6. Worship
6.1 Objectives
Since the manifest energy in Maruti (70%) is much more in comparison to other deities (10%), Maruti is worshipped in the context of energy for the following reasons.
- To overcome distressing energy: To overcome problems due to spirits, black magic, ancestors’ subtle bodies, suffering due to Shani, etc.
- To control pleasant energy: If there is any obstacle in the pathway of the activated kundalini (spiritual energy) then to overcome it and channelise it appropriately.
6.2 Ritualistic worship (puja)
Popular worship: In Maharashtra on the full moon day (pournima) of the Hindu lunar month of Chaitra Hanuman’s birthday (jayanti) is celebrated. In Maharashtra Saturday is considered as an auspicious day for His worship. In the rest of India Saturday and Tuesday both are considered as auspicious days for His worship. On these days people offer Him sindur and oil. In some places coconuts are offered. To make spiritual progress worship of Vamamukhi (facing the left) Maruti or Maruti as the servitor (Dasmaruti) is used. The reasons for offering oil, sindur, leaves of the coral (rui) plant are given in ‘Why are tulsi leaves offered to Vishnu?’.
Influence of Shani and worship of Maruti: The relationship between Shani and Maruti has been explained earlier in point ‘Shani and Maruti’. Hence when there is an influence of Shani, to reduce the resultant/resulting suffering Maruti is worshipped. The ritual should be performed as follows: Take some oil in a cup (vati), put fourteen bengal gram grains (udid) in it and then look at the reflection of one’s face in it. Only then offer it to Maruti. If one is unable to visit the temple due to illness one may worship Maruti in this way. (Information on why bengal gram is used is described in ‘Science of Spirituality : Vol. 20 - Chapter 43 - Possession, Black magic and Manifestation’.)
A real oil vendor will never sell oil on Saturday because the distressing energy for which a person is offering oil to Maruti may start troubling the oil vendor itself. Hence instead of buying oil from oil vendors seated outside the temple one should carry oil for the offering, from home.
7. Maruti in our lives
If Maruti is in our breath then Rama [the embodied soul doing spiritual practice (jivatma) or atmaram] is within us.
